Hair Tolerance

So I believe that I'm a pretty tolerant person - At least I don't have that very angry, blow-up-in-your-face kind of reactions to things. I've got to be super ticked to go there. If there were a fly in my soup, I wouldn't make a huge scene. I've seen people find a hair in their food, eat most of it, and then scream at the management demading a refund and then some. I've seen some just cuss their way out of a restaurant ranting about suing the management. Anyway, Andrew's coming home tonight from Boston/Toronto and I thought that I'd go grab my dinner and then go get his dinner and then come home and clean up before picking him up at the airport.

Andrew doesn't like it when I ask to go to vegetarian restaurants because the food served at said restaurants apparently don't count as a meal. So this was the perfect opportunity to try a new Indian veg restaurant in Santa Clara. I love Indian food and have been told that I could be Indian (hey, they're Asian too right? South!). Anyway - went to go to try out a dosa place.

Got my food and started to dig in and then in my dahl (lentils) was a short, curly, black hair. OK. Normally, I don't freak out too much. I am pretty good about 1 hair. I'll usually just not eat the rest of that small dish or cut out the part that it was in and be done with it becuase honestly, I'm sure there have been worse things in my food and I just don't know it. One time I found a bug and I set that aside too - another story though.

So I pushed the dhal aside and continued on with my dosa. Found a hair - again! Then I thought, "can I really go on?" I broke into another part of the dosa (like an Indian crepe with savoury filling inside) and my stomach recoiled. Another short, black, curly hair. I shuddered. All this time I thought I was pretty tolerant but everyone has their breaking point and I definitely couldn't go on.

The management was nice enough to offer another dish, free of charge but I really wasn't interested and I just left. They were really sorry and I'm sure they were pretty worried about a bad yelp review or something because they looked super scared of me. It happens. It shouldn't happen. But it happens. I wonder what Gordon Ramsay would have said if that happened to him? Needless to say, I ended up getting some Korean food for Andrew and I instead.

So my hair tolerance on a scale from 1 to 10 is 1 it seems. What is yours?
