I Passed!
So I'm officially licensed by the State of California to drive down these palm tree studded streets. Woo hoo!
Due to time contraints (work) and procrastination (can't a girl take a day off?) and the inconvenience of the DMV hours - It has taken a year for me to get this done but I'm officially completed now. Yay! To be honest, I was pretty nervous. The written test alone was asking crazy questions like, "What is the speed limit you should be going on a two lane highway while driving a tractor and towing farm animals while your hazard lights are out?" Something crazy like that. I barely passed. Basically, you can only get 6 wrong and I got 6 wrong. Yay me.
The driving test was today and I was quite scared to meet my tester. He turned out to be a Vietnamese man and came up very seriously to the car and said, "HELLO" with much assertion. I almost cried but put on my best smile and said good afternoon. Then after some preliminary testing, he got in the car, pulled the passenger seat all the way back, reclined it to practically horizontal, pulled down his shades and said, "Don't stress, just drive."
It was pretty easy compared to the Toronto tests so all in all I was happy.
Now, I just have to study and learn to drive a bus - yes, you heard me. A bus. Oh yeah, and a motorcycle. The bus license, my work requires it of me. The motorcycle - lets just say that will be in a blog to come.
Cheers!
