The Return of Kim

Ahhhhh...it's been soooo long and yet I'm still scrambling for a moment to write this up! It's official - I am now Mrs. Kimberly Kim - well, not legally for obvious reasons anyway. Wedding mayhem aside it was great - the day of the wedding felt pretty easy going and I really wasn't too stressed or anything at all - thanks to my wedding planner being there. I totally would recommend one and especially mine (just ask me) for anyone getting married.
Kevin, Kristen and I also enjoyed a morning at the spa (Pantages) on the Friday before the wedding. Also much recommended. I got a body scrub done which was interesting and a bit painfull as they really do scrub all this salt or sugar all over you!

Our Korean pae-baek tea ceremony was a hit with everyone because even many of the Korean guests had never seen one done before. Andrew thinks I looked even more beautiful in my Korean Ham-bok than I did in my white wedding dress - I won't tell my dad that since he's the one who slaved away making the dress (which was beautiful by the way)!

I'm still waiting for my official photos to be done - hopefully my photographer will get them to my soon so that I can get going with all the thank you cards before Christmas!

We're finally settled into our new place which has started to grow on me a little. Some things that I'm still not used to are coin operated laundry (which is thankfully on site), being in a one bedroom place (no where to run!), and a small kitchen (for those of you who know me, you know this would pose a bit of a problem for me the culinary extremist).

Church is going well so far. The youth are nice and I look forward to getting to know them better. I'm not really a pushy person (to new people at least) and I've always grown up in our own church so this will be different. However, our new Captains, James and Joyce Lee are super nice and very gung ho about their ministry here at the Salvation Army Sunnyvale Grace Korean Corps. I look forward to working with them in helping this ministry grow. The community is also quite supportive and I'll be dipping my feet into the social services as well so that's definitely a new challenge. The S.A. in Canada and the US are so very different in that sense, even though we share a border. Funny eh?
Things to pray for: for our new ministry, that the youth are receptive to sermons, studies, programs and fellowship and that they will have a heart for growing in Christ. For our families who miss us and we miss as well. For this community that we will be serving and the new people that we will meet on a daily basis - for these are all opportunities for ministry. That Andrew and I can continue to work on a strong marriage relationship despite our busy schedules.
Tomorrow night I am going to meet the ladies that work at Andrew's company. They've invited me out for a "Ladies of Sophistication and Good Taste" evening - clearly they do not know that from the title alone, I don't fit the bill! Anyhoo - I'm looking forward to meeting them and Andrew's obviously not going to be with me so I'll have to be on my best behaviour - hehehe
Miss everyone lots - xoxo Kim
