Close Encounters with David

David Crowder is my hero! Ok, i'm exaggerating but I am pretty excited about this one.
Andrew went to the David Crowder Band concert on MY BIRTHDAY =( this year.
Since he couldn't really get me anything and I was in Toronto so I couldn't join him - he bought me tickets to the next concert for my b-day! October 16th downtown San Francisco at the Fillmore. Woo hoo!

We had a blast - the Myriad and Phil something opened for them and they were pretty good but man, DCB was great. It was open floor so we got up pretty close, well close enough that I could see the veins popping from David's forehead and sweat dripping down his goatee. nice. The concert room is on the second floor so when people started jumping and dancing the whole floor shook like a trampoline - there were moments where I thought, "OK, this is it, God's going to take me here and now at this DCB concert". Yes, I am very melodramatic thank you very much.

This is the Remedy album tour so everyone was asked to bring socks and towels to donate to the local outreach centre. David appealed to everyone during the concert to live like we sing, out loud and to bring the Kingdom of Heaven here and now because our society is hurting so much and the love and salvation of Jesus, working in us, is our remedy.

It made me glad to know that I'm working with the Salvation Army and learning more about the social service ministry here. I see people every day come to our corps to get bread, eggs, fruit and are just so happy to have something to bring back home to their families. It's a blessing to get to do this work. Praise be to God.
