OWWW
I gotta say, the extraction was a breeze thanks to numbing and nitrous-oxide.
Recovery is something else - it's a big pain and i'm wondering when the bleeding will stop becuase sipping on tomato soup (i'm starving) that tastes like blood is NOT appetizing at all.
On a lighter note - my good friend Godfrey is getting married tomorrow and last night I attended his and Lola's Nigerian wedding festivities. It was definitely something different! Everyone looked gorgeous in their traditional garb. Godfrey's family is from Guyana so this was something new for them too.
Highlights - dancing. I love that as we praised the Lord together in song, that people just couldn't stop dancing! "Oh I feel like dancing - it's foolishness I know - but when the world has seen the light - they will dance like joy like we're dancing now..." I just had to join in because so many times too i feel like dancing at church and I'm admittedly sad that no one seems to want to other than myself. We were created to be worshipful and to praise with not only our voices but our lives, our bodies. Last night I truly wished that I was born Nigerian =) The singing was wayyyyy out of tune and sporadic but so beautiful because it was from deep down - raw and passionate. There was so much prayer too - such a God centered ceremony - Godfrey and Lola were and are truly blessed to have God's presence in this marriage.
So tonight I rest up - until midnight - HARRY POTTER! - yup, that's right, i'm getting in line to pick up my copy of the Deathly Hallows - final book? I hope not! Don't worry Jude, i'll pick up a copy for you too! I figure i will finish the book if I keep reading from midnight on until Godfrey and Lola's wedding begins at 2pm on Saturday. Hey, with the pain i'm in, I probably wouldn't be sleeping anyway! I really hope Dumbledore isn't in fact dead and that no other characters I love die! It's too much for my heart!
