Quiet
It’s very funny that of all the things to stop working in my car, the stereo is the first.
For the past 3 weeks, now going on 4, I have had absolutely no stereo…it died or something. Due to my lack of time and lack of determination to fix it, it remains silent. At first the silence was deafening and after going a bit a-wall, I’ve begun to find it kind-of nice.
We just don’t get these quiet moments anymore. What, with my cell phone ringing 24-7, cars drive by, blaring their stereos, windows down enjoying the beautiful spring weather, people gabbing to each other and on the phone, and the ongoing droning sounds of construction all over the city, how can one even get a quiet moment?
Even in my car, with 4 of my youth sitting as passengers, 2 of the 4 are usually listening to their MP3 players while talking to each other, while at least one is playing games on his or her phone. We’re all in the same place at the same time, and yet we’re not even able to fully engage and interact with one another over the noise and distractions. No wonder people have such a hard time getting along these days. They can’t even stop for a moment, to really soak in their surroundings, the situations around them, or take time to fully get to know their friends and family.
We are bombarded with these things and so distracted that we seem to not be able to do anything fully. Kev watches TV, while talking on his cell, while chatting on msn, while downloading, while eating, while listening to music playing off his laptop, while updating his Facebook info. Just thinking of it gives me a headache.
My favourite question to ask Andrew is…”Am I crazy?”. Maybe I’m just getting old. I used to be able to do that stuff. I know I’m capable of still doing that stuff because I multi-task like crazy at work. But I suppose the difference is that if I have a choice, I’d choose not to do so. Pour ma santé.

oh well...yes silence is nice BUT....when it's like 30 plus degrees celcius and the AC DOESNT work....radio would be much appreciated.
