Learners

As the after-school program director - I've got 23 kids under my wing right now. Of course there are some very bright kids in this bunch. There are also a handful of them who might have some learning disabilities, some with behavioural issues and one with definite learning disablities but her mom's not willing to talk about it. I can't say that I'm finding this easy. I've worked one on one with many children like this but when they are in big groups it's quite different because they often take cues, are discouraged by, or feed off the hyperactivity of the other kids. It is pretty hard keeping my focus and even harder explaning these types of things to the parents. Praying for these little ones, praying for my staff and myself, praying that their educational futures will be bright.
