New Year Update
So 2010 has begun with a bang. As in, BANG, and straight out the gate!
We've had our annual young adult retreat in Tahoe City, CA again. It was not as snowy as the great white north. Actually, more like slushy northern Cal but I can't complain. Much time was spent admiring the snow and enjoying tobogganing and watching our delegates carve, crash and burn on the hills. On the first night, I warned all our delegates about walking out on the grounds of the resort because of the "black ice" that had formed. They all looked at me like I was crazy. Then I asked, "Am I just referring to an exclusively Canadian term? Do you guys know what black ice is? A very thin layer of ice that barely covers asphalt and is as slick as oil?"
They all nodded and said, "OH, ok."
Later on, I was informed that the reason for the confusion was because they though I had said, "Watch out for the black GUYS." What the heck?! Remind me to enunciate my words clearly if you ever do see me.
We've started Bible study, just leaders, and it's been a blessing.
I've started school again - Gospel, Church and Culture. It's going to be a blessing but I dread having to reply to everyone's posts all the time. It's hard doing online classes.
Oh yeah, I had a maple-glazed, bacon and apple donut today. Let's just say that you shouldn't knock it until you've tried it. I'm definitely sold. Only in San Francisco right?
Time to tuck into bed. A new day awaits and I need some shut eye!
