Visit
Dad came to visit with my step-mom this past weekend. Thankfully, Northern California had been blessed with lots of warm sunny weather, making the visit quite cheery. We were cramped in our little place but it worked out fine - other than my jet-lagged father who kept waking up at 5am Pacific time.
I'm thankful for the visit, thankful that we had some time to ourselves, and thankful that they were happy to be here. I think having a father with many friends has been a blessing in my life but also, for this visit, it became a bit crazy. For at least one day, I whisked them away (far away) so that I could just spend some time with them. Actually, we went to Carmel which is where this lovely tree on my blog is from. For the rest of the time, I was negotiating schedules, meeting places, to the point where we were tired beyond belief. Next time, perhaps a relaxing family cruise!
I've also had a minor stomach thingy that's been going around. Thankfully this didn't kick in until right after I left them at the SF airport gate. It's put me out of commission for a little bit but at least I think I'll now fit into my uniform skirt this weekend - haha.
We have a march of witness again in SF. The cadets are coming and Andrew and I have been asked to play in the marching band. I haven't practiced since the summer so I'm hoping that I'll be able to keep up!
